ROPES received ‘BALA RAKSHAK AWARD 2014” (CHILD PROTECTION AWARD) from State Commission for Protecting Children Rights of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. The award has given to us based on ROPES’ potentials on creating protecting environment for children in the communities as well as provided innovative and effective solutions to the commission on scaling up the protective environment at state level.

- Using Child Protection lens while assessing the violation of children’s rights to understand the experiences of children’s poverty under deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability.
- Mobilizing and sensitizing communities to realize the importance of child protection.
- Establishing community based child protection committees and strengthening them to link with mainstream system.
- Rescued and rehabilitation of children affected by Child Trafficking and Child labour.
- Stopped child marriages.
- Building effective relationship with primary duty bearers especially with mainstream child protection system – Police department, Child Welfare Committees, District Legal Cell, Juvenile Justice Board and Child Line.
- Hosting campaign on missing children, child marriages, child rights and child protection.
- Committed towards the protection of children and women
